Frequently asked questions about the Ghost Walks

When are the walks held?

In 2012 we will operate a 'shoulder' season (April, May, and June) and a 'peak' season (July through to November).

The 2012 programme starts on Tuesday April 3rd and we will walk twice a week every Tuesday and Thursday until the end of June.

The walks then increase to three times a week commencing on Monday July 2nd. Then every
Monday, Tuesday and Thursday until November 29th.

In December we have our 'Festive Specials' every Thursday (6th, 13th and 20th) until our final Festive walk on Friday 21st. The December walks are priced at £8.00 and include not only many new stories from around Britain but a glass of mulled wine  (or soft drink) and a mince pie at the Adam and Eve.

The Monday walk is the 'Elm Hill' walk, Tuesdays is the 'Lanes' Walk and the Thursday walk is the 'Castle' walk,. See 'Walks' page for further details.

In addition there is a Halloween Special for six days up to October 31st. There will be no traditional walk that week. on Monday 29th or Tuesday 30th.

Private walks can be organised all year round and can be tailored to meet your exact requirements.

The walks start outside The Adam and Eve pub off BIshopsgate at 7.30.  Proceed up Whitefriars from the Puppet Theatre roundabout, Bishopsgate is on the left just after Whitefriars Bridge. 21764smallThe Adam and Eve is left off Bishopsgate just after the Law Courts.

How long do the walks take?

Approximately two hours except the Festive specials which last 90 minutes.

What if the weather is poor?

We aim to run the ghost walks as sheduled. If light rain is present or showers are forcast we will nomally go ahead. If the rain is heavier or persistent then the ghosts wont mind the rain but you probably will.

Can I take photographs?

The streets of Norwich are yours to capture on film. Also the ghost hunter team will be happy to pose for photos with you and your friends.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes. All walks enjoy the company of well behaved dogs on a lead.

I am disabled; can I get around the walks?

The walks are on fairly flat ground and are not too extended, although you will need to keep up with the main group or you may loose some of the content of the stories. Wheel chairs can get around all the routes albeit sometimes with a few yards detour.

Is the walk suitable for small children or those of a nervous disposition?ghost2a

The walks are scary in a fun way and whilst there will be the odd 'boo' moment and tales of blood and gore we would hope not to upset those of a nervouse disposition. Please be aware that the ghost walk team take no responsibility for any reaction from our custmers to any of the events that take place on the walks. Young children are most welcome but thet need to know that they could be eaten by the Man in Black if he fancies a snack on the way round.

How much do the walks cost?

£6 for adults. £4 for children under 12 and senior citizens. Children under 5 go free. December 'Festive specials' are £8.00.

Do we have a break at any time?

No the walks are continuous. However we do stop at places of interest to hear the next ghost story and so there will be time on the way round to stop off for a comfort break without loosing touch with the main group.

Are there any discounts avaialble?

Groups of ten or more are offered a £1 per head discount to the standard fee.

Can I arrange for a private tour as well as the scheduled ones?

Yes we are happy to undertake private bookings all year round. The full ghost team will provide an evenings entertainment for a £100 minimum charge. Charges go up incrementally at £6 per head. For example 20 persons would cost £120. If no ghosts are required the fixed price will be reduced by £30.  Full details of private walks are on the appropriate page of this web site.

What else can you offer?

The Man in Black is available for talks and presentations to all types of groups and societies all year round. Why not liven up your party by arranging a visit from him - additional (tangible) ghosts are optional extras.
