Frequently asked questions about the Ghost Walks

When are the walks held?

In 2010 we will operate a 'peak' season (June through to November) and two 'shoulder' seasons April, May, and December).

The 2010 programme starts on Thursday April 1st and we will walk once a week every Thursday until the end of May.

The walks then increase to three times a week commencing on Tuesday June 1st. Then every
Monday, Tuesday and Thursday until November 30th.

In December we revert back to once a week on a Thursday until our final public walk on Thursday 23rd.

The Monday walk is the 'Elm Hill' walk and the Thursday walk is the 'Castle' walk,. See 'Walks' page for further details.

In addition there is a Halloween Special for five days up to October 31st. There will be no traditional Thursday walk that week.

Private walks can be organised all year round and can be tailored to meet your exact requirements.

How long do the walks take?

Approximately two hours

What if the weather is poor?

We aim to run the ghost walks as sheduled. If light rain is present or showers are forcast we will nomally go ahead. If the rain is heavier or persistent then the ghosts wont mind the rain but you probably will.

Can I take photographs?

The streets of Norwich are yours to capture on film. Also the ghost hunter team will be happy to pose for photos with you and your friends.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes. All walks enjoy the company of well behaved dogs on a lead.

I am disabled; can I get around the walks?

The walks are on fairly flat ground and are not too extended, although you will need to keep up with the main group or you may loose some of the content of the stories. Wheel chairs can get around all the routes albeit sometimes with a few yards detour.

Is the walk suitable for small children or those of a nervous disposition?ghost2a

The walks are scary in a fun way and whilst there will be the odd 'boo' moment and tales of blood and gore we would hope not to upset those of a nervouse disposition. Please be aware that the ghost walk team take no responsibility for any reaction from our custmers to any of the events that take place on the walks. Young children are most welcome but thet need to know that they could be eaten by the Man in Black if he fancies a snack on the way round.

How much do the walks cost?

£6 for adults. £4 for children under 12 and senior citizens. Children under 5 go free.

Do we have a break at any time?

No the walks are continuous. However we do stop at places of interest to hear the next ghost story and so there will be time on the way round to stop off for a comfort break without loosing touch with the main group.

Are there any discounts avaialble?

Groups of ten or more are offered a £1 discount to the standard fee.

Can I arrange for a private tour as well as the scheduled ones?

Yes we are happy to undertake corporate bookings all year round. As a guide price the full ghost team will provide an evenings entertainment for up to 20 people for £100. Charges go up incrementally depending on approximate numbers likely to attend. If no ghosts are required the fixed price will be reduced by £30.  Full details of private walks are on the appropriate page of this web site.

What else can you offer?

The Man in Black is available for talks and presentations to all types of groups and societies all year round. Why not liven up your party by arranging a visit from him - additional (tangible) ghosts are optional extras.
